Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week took place last week in Berlin. Like every other time I wanted to share my impressions with you so I collected the best of the events we have been invited to and split that into two parts. So here comes the first one.

Thomas Hanisch SS 2017

Edginess meets femininity

The Berlin-based designer Thomas Hanisch presented his Spring/Summer 2017 collection at Erika Hess Eisstadion in Berlin. In my opinion his work is close to art since it is avant-garde, bold and futuristic. The clothes he showed represented an eccentric mix of contrasts – all models looks were edgy and sexy, but also feminine at the same time. The designer decided to make a visual statement playing with fabrics, textures and prints. Some of the main fabrics he used were leather, latex, faux fur and also soft, light falling printed materials like silk. Combining pop-culture glam and extravagant visual statements the designer created something that can be described as wearable art.

Odeur Studios SS 2017

Scandinavian minimalism

The Swedish brand Odeur Studios also presented its SS 2017 collection at Erika Hess Stadion in Berlin. I know this label since last fashion week and I have to say that I pretty much like its work. Innovative cuts, simplistic yet characterful silhouettes, layering and oversize shapes are the keywords that best describe the work of the designer duo Anna Lidstrom and Peter Hallstrom. Black, white and grey were some of the main colours they worked with. Their models were clean, minimalistic, androgynous and represented the Scandinavian aestetics, cleaness and purism.

Fashion Blogger Café

And last but not least comes the Fashion Blogger Café which took place at LNFA concept store in Bikini Berlin. Delicious food and drinks, nice beats and some ‘do it yourself’ projects – this event has always been such a great opportunity to meet many cool people, make connections and grab some inspiration. So thanks Styleranking for having us!
